From a family adopting mini lop twins from Bellis & Jerry's litter, November 2002:-
I just wanted to say thank you so very very much, for Harvey & Chestnut. They are incredibly wonderful, and we love them to bits.  Their characters are so different.  Harvey (the broken blue/black) is very inquisitive, whilst Chestnut (formerly known as Ginger, until we got home) is so very quiet, but absolutely loves his cuddles and kisses.  So does Harvey, when he comes over and nudges you for some fuss!
Well done Karen you really are a credit and inspiration to the Bunny World, keep up your good work.
Marisa, Chris, Mitchell & Corey

From the adopters of the above bunnies' brother: (Nov 2002)

I thought I would update you on Randi whom we collected from you about three weeks ago.

He is enjoying his new home a lot and has been really keen to explore all
the new rooms that he is being allowed in.  He is quite a cheeky little
gentleman and enjoys running around our feet, licking us, running away when
we try and catch him (real speciality) and destroying twig balls and straw
plaits.  He is very taken with Thumper (our girl bunny) and during their
introductions has made numerous amorous advances, much to Thumpers
annoyance.  Thumper was very perturbed at having to share her owners with a
new bunny and being shut out of some rooms in the house at first, and
nipped Randi at every opportunity she was able to contrive, but following a
recent long date in Southampton where they were placed in adjacent cages
for a full three days and allowed to run around in the same room separately
she is a little more friendly.  Randi is now allowed to lick her, but
Thumper refuses to return the favour so far.

Randi is an absolutely wonderful bunny as a pet - he is a real softie and
is happy to sit on our knees for ages and have cuddles.  He is incredibly
cute looking and a real charmer with everyone who comes round to visit.
When he and Thumper get on properly and can be trusted to run around by
themselves it will be great to have him come for cuddles on the sofa with
Thumper.

Thank you having helped produce such a lovely bunny.  He is not only
gorgeous looking but from the moment we got him was friendly and trusting.
It was great to meet his parents as well and all the way back home after
collecting him we were guessing which one he would end up taking after
more.  Getting the CD with pictures and videos of him growing up as a
lovely touch.  Many thanks,  Emily

From French Lop adopter, November 2002:-

It was good to meet you - finally. Just to let you know "Dillon" is doing
fine. He sat on my lap for about 3 hours home (only one minor puddle - on
the towel). Once home we had a few little jobs to do to finish his house so
I let him have a run around the living room (keeping a close eye on him). I
had to pop upstairs for a minute and Martins job was to watch him, when I
came back down Dillon had tipped his (temporary) food bowl all over the
floor and was merrily munching away! He is very inquisitive and cheeky but
he's so sweet and likes his cuddles. After a run around he lies down for a
rest, when I pick him up he almost falls asleep in my arms (so sweet)....
No doubt he'll have lots of visitors over the next few days but this rabbit
shows no fear, he not scared of anything! He was obviously handled and
cuddled a lot which is nice because he's so tame and friendly.
Chris

From the adopter of two French Lop sisters:-

Thought I'd give you an update on the girls.

They are just so wonderful, they have settled in really well.  When I left
them this morning they were both crashed out on their sides, cuddling into
each other, snuggled up in their bed.

It was wonderful on Friday, knowing I had my first full weekend to spend
with them.  They explored round the kitchen and even ventured up the hall
once or twice - they're getting very brave!  One of the nicest things was
watching Steve lie on the kitchen floor whilst they clambered over him.

Their litter training has been non-existent because they worked out where
to go from the moment they came home - a credit to you.

I am pleased to say that they continue to eat exceptionally well - both mix
and hay and sit happily munching together - although one of the funniest
sights is watching then both try to drink from their bottle at the same
time!

They particularly like straw plaits and willow balls and they've had some
great games seeing who can munch through to the middle of the plait the
quickest and flinging their willow ball to each other.    JO, Suffolk

From the adopters of a pair of Mayflower's and Jerry's litter - 21 August 2002:

Thanks for the piccies of James with Ellie and Jerry. Well what can I say
about my two bundles of fur! I'm totally speechless. They're the best things
that have happened to me (well, apart from meeting my husband!). No amount of
money can express how much they mean to me already in such a short space of
time. I just didn't want to tear myself away from them to come to work this
morning. They're just the best.

The journey home was quite eventful. They both sat really quietly, both
being stroked and cuddled whilst I was trying to soften some of the bumpy
bits on the way home, when suddenly Jerry decided that he had drank too much
water before we set off and couldn't hold on any longer - and considering I
was holding him up to my chest at the precise moment, I got soaked in bunny
urine. But Jerry's bladder still wasn't empty so he promptly turned to sit
on top of his sister and soak her too!!! And while I was trying to soak up
the mess, James just kept on laughing!! It was quite hilarious!!

When we eventually got home, we settled them into their new hutch where
Jerry promptly used his litter tray which I was very pleased about. Ellie
followed suit but I think it's going to take a little longer with her.

Their characters are already shining through. Jerry is already quite settled
in with us whilst Ellie is still slightly wary and a little skittish. Jerry
is definitely the boss and the typical laid back male (aren't they all?
Looks like he's taking after James already!!) and Ellie is 'Miss
Inquisitive'. She was the first to work out there was a run underneath their
home and in a matter of minutes she was scooting up and down floors!!
They've both taken a liking to their seagrass mat and it's already taken
quite a chewing - along with their flavoured salt lick and cardboard tunnel
I bought them (this seems a favourite with Ellie). Jerry (along with the
litter tray!) is Ellie's safety blanket at the moment - she always darts
back to him and hides under his ear if she gets worried about something - so
I'm so glad that I got the pair of them.

I'm also very pleased to announce that I think Jerry is developing his
daddy's ears. Last night it was definitely one up, one down which just
looked so adorable when he was hopping around the room. They only both droop
when he's resting, other than that, one is always up - even this morning
when I went to see them. Have you noticed this??

Before we went to bed last night we brought them into the house for a quick
cuddle before they went to bed but Ellie wasn't having any of it. She was
more interested in exploring. We brought their litter tray in and they both
went in there which I was very surprised about. We had a couple of misguided
droppings but nothing that we couldn't handle. They really are amazing!!
Ellie was off around the room looking for things to chew whilst I held
Jerry, who was making quiet churning noises (I took this to mean he was
feeling comfortable). And then the most amazing thing happened -I put Jerry
on the floor, under James' watchful eye, to look for Ellie, who was by now
chewing my curtains, and found little Jerry following me around the room.
And when I sat down he hopped onto my lap and waited to be petted. He then
promptly flipped himself over onto his back and fell asleep for about 20
minutes with his little paws in the air whilst I rubbed his tummy and nose.
Awwww!

I also had a quick look at the CDs we got from you. The video clip one is
just amazing. I can't believe there's so much on it. It's just amazing what
you've done. It's lovely to see them right from when they were wee wriggly
ones.

Anyhow I better not keep you any longer from your buns. I've written quite an
essay but I thought it nice to get an update on how Jerry Junior and Ellie
Mayflower are getting on. Once we get our digital camera I can send you
updated shots. Jerry Junior and Ellie Mayflower say 'hi' to you all.
(Personally I don't think we could have picked more suitable names for them
both!)

Already I can't imagine life without them and, although James wasn't overly
excited when I mentioned that I was thinking of getting a couple of bunnies
awhile back, he's absolutely smitten by the two new baby members of our
family! I'm just watching the clock tick by waiting until 5pm when I can
dash out of here (ie. work) to get home to them!

Thank you so much Karen for all the dedication you put into rearing such
wonderful balls of fur!! In my eyes, and many others, considering your
feedback on your website, you're a complete star!!!

Best wishes

Nikki, James, Jerry and Ellie!!

22 August 2002 - Re dwarf lop adopted summer 2001...

Treacle is over a year old now and is a fine rabbit.

He has a great temperament which I can only put down to good breeding- especially as all my other rabbits have been a bit of a handful!  It certainly rings true what you say on your website about buying from a reputable breeder.  I enclose a few photos of Treacle in the garden and he wants me to pass on his regards to you, Figwort (dad) and Teasel (mum).

S & M H, Hyde, Cheshire.

From the adopters of two of Bluebell's Mini Lops, Summer 2002:

I've been meaning to find a few minutes to e mail you for ages. Just wanted to say how absolutely thrilled we are with our buns. They are so friendly and such lovely, but very different personalities. Crumble is curled up contentedly on my lap as I type this. She just wishes I had more time to sit down! Bilberry is in the hutch - no doubt wondering what he's missing out on. But as "sitting still" rarely seems to be in his vocabulary .....! He is such an affectionate bunny though - we all love him - and soap and flannels are now an optional extra as he has to lick any bare skin within reach! They are growing bigger, they've had their VHD jabs and Bilberry is booked into the vets next Monday. They like their run, but think the kitchen is even better - an 18 foot kitchen gives quite a lot of room to get up speed when you're a bun with surplus energy!

By the way, Bilberry's favourite toy is a kid's large but lightweight football, which he pushes round the run or plays chase his own tail running round it in circles!

Toffee (guinea-pig) is still fine with them. I'll pop a picture in the post of the three of them together the day after they arrived. (Can't send it electronically because we don't own a digital camera or a scanner!) Later pictures are still in the camera.

Thanks again for your super bunnies. Hope your buns are all doing well.  N&V F, Malvern, November 2002

We had a good ride home, we got back at 6pm. Both Lester and Penny are settling in very nicely, the children love them to bits and this morning my daughter was sitting with them reading them a story!!!

Last night they made me chuckle, I had just tucked them up into bed, and went to check on them a little bit later on. When they both saw me, they both at the same time slumped onto their bellies sprawled out with their legs stretched out, it reminded me of two children saying "we are asleep really!" I thought it was dead funny. They have found a corner in which they both like to have a quiet moment together. I have turned their travel box into a feeding station where they have their hay and food in with their water bottle attached also. During the day they also have an igloo cat bed to snuggle up inside. They are being very good with using their litter tray also, I cant believe how well they have adapted to living indoors. I love them so much, Last night we had a gorgeous cuddle together in front of the telly once the kids had gone to bed. I think they enjoyed the calmness of the evening after the excitement from the children. I am keeping the children under constant supervision when they are with the rabbits and make sure that the rabbits have their own space too, its a bit of a shock I guess for them to be confronted with two loud children, so at the moment contact with the children is kept minimal so they get used to all the noises and smells around them.

I had an idea by the way about people visiting your home. Why don't you ask people to leave their children at home while people visit you.I didn't bring our children for that very reason. After a long ride in the car the last thing the children want to be is quiet and still, they want to run and play to stretch their limbs,I had no bother arranging our children to be looked after and in a way it was better for them too, as they didn't have the long journey to go through. I'm sure people would understand and you would benefit from keeping your pets stress free. Its only a suggestion mind and if you did want your bunnies to have child contact then you could ask visitors to leave very young children at home (with a babysitter of course!)......

Thank you so much for all you have done and although I didn't talk much when I saw you (me being a bit shy) I was delighted to meet you in person and all your bunny pals. Your dedication and love for rabbits is very apparent and I have to say I have never come across a pair of rabbits so friendly and tame.

You should give yourself a pat on the back me thinks! You are truly "The Bunny Mummy"     A, Surrey

Just thought I'd let you know we're all thoroughly smitten with the new bunnies.  They are real characters and love all the cuddling they are getting. They were amazing on the journey...the only toilet stop was for the children... the rabbits snuggled up and dozed all the way.
Lucy's favourite thing is the hayrack while Poppy adores the drainpipes for scampering through and occasionally hiding in. It's very handy having a friendly plumber next door to donate spare bits of piping! They are eating well and seem to have settled in happily!  .....they do like to relocate the litter tray and poo in the corner that they moved it from!

Made it home safely and in time! James is thrilled with his new 'brother' - especially as when he first saw him, Herbie was pushing the willow ball around!    just wanted to say thank you so much for everything you have done - its wonderful to meet someone who obviously cares so much for buns, and as a result we get to benefit too!  AE, DEVON May 2002

Sorry it's taken so long for me to get back to you, as I've been studying hard for my GCSE's! Sweep has settled in perfectly now, and he is definitely part of the family.  Sweep spends more time out of his hutch than inside! He enjoys running around in the living room and has an obsession with leaping up in the air! He has had so much practice that he is able to jump out of his hutch! Sweep's ears haven't lopped yet but are developing kinks in the ends. Sweep is slowly starting to use his Litter tray, just needs a little encouragement. Sweep loves to lie infront of the fire and have a nose rub he is so sweet! Thank you for such a perfect little baby Boy.  From Charlotte :-)

> Thank you so much for all the photos you have sent through... there are squeals of
> delight echoing all around the office afterI forwarded them on to my friends.
> You've made us so happy!!!!  Louise P, Northants

Later, a card followed reading "Just a little note to say a MASSIVE thank you for completing our family with the gorgeous Rocky.  He's settled in brilliantly and we're so pleased we found you"

Sorry for not being in touch sooner, have been pre-occupied with little bunny who still does not have a name....  Journey home was not a problem, he slept most of the way on the back of my neck. He has settled in well and is hopping around quite happily.  Thank you very much, he is wonderful.  Helen C, Derby

Puddle had a good journey home; he stayed on my lap just being cuddled. We have put him under the stairs along with his new bed and litter box. He settled in to his bed and has used his litter box on a couple of occasions, although he's had a few wee's in his bed.

We have put up some hardboard to keep him in his own area to help with his litter training.  AsI write this, the little monkey has found a way out from between the boards and has come waltzing into the lounge to be with us.  The children could not believe that we decided to get a girl friend for Puddle.  We still have to think of a name for her.

When he is held he grinds his teeth and has plenty of licks for Paul and my son Damien, but in the last few minutes, he has found out where my ears are and you are right, it does tickle and gives me goose bumps.  He has ventured up on to the forth step of the stairs, probably it won't take him long to find out there is another big wide world upstairs.

We cannot believe how lucky we are to have such a lovely little boy, we hope he feels the same way about us; all the signs are that he does, this can only be attributed to all the love care and devotion you put into your hobby.

Thank you so much, we will be in touch soon with some more news.  EJ, March 2002

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you but I had the day off to bond with Bentley and I can definitely say he is wonderful. He is so laid back and not worried about a thing it is unbelievable. He woke us up a 7 yesterday banging his food bowl against his door and then he came running out ( and I mean sprinting) and did a couple of laps of the house. He then found his place under the table and next to the radiator with his fleecy blanket and proceeded to sleep all morning flopped out on his side. He slept through the morning  and then woke up for another run around the house. He loves his home and his castle and his blanket. He even sleeps through the hoovering.

I have discovered that the suckling is in fact enthusiastic licking with a bit of nibbling thrown in. He loves being kissed on the nose and responds with a face wash for the person kissing him. Bentley is also responding well to visitors. He met my best friend yesterday and the day before and he greeted her like a long lost friend.

He really is wonderful.  CC, Cardiff, March 2002

Just a short note to thank you for the wonderful job you've done with the netherland dwarf we adopted from you.   Your customers need to know the quality of bunnies you have....  Blue Jay is so tame and will sit on my lap for hours and be stroked and, looking at the picture of his mother Sylvie, he has become the  image of her as his coat has changed colour.   Fran Garner, Connahs Quay    (adopted Blue Jay, then Moonlight and Twilight to keep him company!)

If it wasn't for this website we wouldn't have met!!! We love it. Well done!!! Thinking of visiting you again..... Helen and Dougal, Nottingham  (later returned to adopt Zebedee then again in August 2005)

Many thanks.... Your bunnies are a credit to your hard work and dedication and it shows through the calm gentle nature of your bunnies.  Julie S, Stoke-on-Trent

Just thought I'd drop you a note to let you know that Denzil has settled in Croydon very well.   He's a 'one rabbit destruction team' and is very very naughty, but incredibly adorable.   His litter training went well and we've only had a couple of accidents.  However, he has an unhealthy obsession with the plants and has the ability to shimmy to the top of the yucca plant, but then has to be rescued as he hasn't figured out how to get down yet.  (CS.  Surrey)

I can't get over how tame they are.  We let them settle in overnight and now they're following us around the house and they sit on our laps to watch TV.  They're lovely - and now our neighbours want one...!   PL, Hereford

I have to admit that I greatly admire the way that you care for your rabbits. Even though you
have so many, you never let any individual one lack 100% attention. Unfortunately from what I've seen, many breeders keep lots of rabbits cramped in tiny hutches in dark garages, allowing them no exercise, or even access to daylight! You're the only breeder that I know of that puts the rabbits' well-being first. Your garden is simply a bunny-heaven! As a beginner breeder, I hope to copy your excellent example. I think you do a great job!,  VMcC, August 2002

Thanks for everything, the video is a lovely touch.  Harry is fantastic and is settling in perfectly, at the moment he is fully sprawled out on G's legs and has already been rolling onto his side ....I think he is totally relaxed here at his new home! He was perfect on the journey home and didn't have a single 'accident'!   Once again K, thanks for everything.  G&P, Wiltshire

I know you said he is litter-trained but I hadn't really expected him to jump in his tray and use it on the day we picked him up.  The reaction of our astounded visitors is something we'll never forget.  JR, Ledbury

Thank you for your time today, you were obviously very tired after seeing Sapphire through her ordeal, but we were very pleased to see all your bunnies, so well looked after and well loved.  We were all very impressed, especially the children having the chance to see such young newborn bunnies. AH, Southampton

Just to say that Freya has settled in brilliantly and her and Sage are the best of friends!  Freya even gets on with the ducks and chickens!
Hannah

Just wanted to thank you for your informative and humorous website!   Our family has just adopted a very sweet lop, and as we weren't planning for this addition, really appreciated the matter-of-fact way that you gave all the answers.

Your rabbits are so clean, so happy, so healthy and so friendly.  They have no apprehension towards humans and I've never seen any so tame.....  They're a credit to you and you should be proud.  JF, Staffordshire
