Just to let you know that Tinkerbell has well and truly settled in!  After several chaperoned meetings with Bunny Boy they have proved a match made in heaven.  The only one who is suffering is our male cat whom Tinkerbell has taken a real shine to and who regularly runs away from her advances!
She is a true delight, exceedingly tame and gets very angry with us when Bunny Boy is allowed the run of the garden and she has to stay in the run.  Our daughter is delighted that Tinkerbell comes to her when she calls her name and loves it when Tinkerbell is brought into her play room and plays with all her toys!
We will keep you updated with her progress.  Many thanks for such a super little bunny who has made another bunny very happy!  C & MB, Herefordshire.  December 2004

George was a good boy on the way home he stretched out on my lap!  He got a bit fidgety when we were just a few miles from home and then he had a wee!  Its a shame I couldn't explain to him we were nearly home!!

He settled in well, he has been eating and drinking ok and his poos look normal.

On the first night when I was having some cuddles with him he started licking me much to my delight!! He is quite an assertive bunny, I've had the occasional nudge!

He's on my lap now and seems pretty relaxed, I'm really pleased with him and I have completely fallen for him.

All the best,  Lucy and George in Plymouth

Just a quick note to thank you for letting me have Buttercup, she is delightful, and impeccably behaved. Me and my friends could not believe how relaxed she was all the journey. She has settled in already is eating, drinking, pooing etc. It's a shame I was so tired last night, and restricted by time having my friends waiting for me as I could have spent ages looking at all the bunnies.   Lesley, Vet Nurse (specialising in bunnies), Nottinghamshire, November 2004.

What a fantastic little bunny - he did not flinch all the way home apart from to adjust his position.  He is so calm but inquisitive as well.

Erin is truly enraptured by him and it is a struggle to let him have some time in his hutch as she wants him on her knee all the time.

Honey has had a good sniff and does not seem overly worried by him although I am nervous that if she jumps on him he could be squashed, we will take that slowly. Blue had a little sniff around the kitchen as well and was very easy to pick up again which is great.  He is adorable on his back and again so calm.

He is wonderful and perfect for a child who wants to shower him with affection.  Many thanks once again.

I would just like to say what a wonderful little rabbit our Blue Boy is, Erin is delighted with him!
From day one he has been the softest, easiest bunny to handle and is a real character, we love him dearly.
Blue is really fun to play with and has a great personality and has now discovered how to climb up the stairs.
We are really chuffed with him.

Have a great Christmas and New Year.

Ruth

"Mabel" was a very good girl all journey, I can't believe how well she sits!!

We couldn't be happier with her!!  She is so pretty and calm .. and quite adventurous.  She's been up to the top tier of her home already and it took Harley two weeks before he ventured up there!

Thanks again for everything, I was very impressed by all your bunnies.
We'll keep you updated with her progress and you can rest assured she has
gone to a very loving home.   Even Ben gets soppy behind closed doors!!

Bye for now,  Michelle   (Bromley, Kent)

Feedback from the adopters of our French Lop X British Giant babies - August 2004

It was lovely to meet you yesterday, we had a very good journey home, Phoebe sat on my lap good as gold with no accidents!!    We introduced her to her new home which she seemed very pleased with and after a scout around and half an hour sleep she came and had something to eat and drink and everything else necessary, she was standing up at the hay rack for what I soon found out to be wanting a cuddle !! Which is just great she is so affectionate and that must be down to your careful rearing ( and of course having such a good mum as Imogen, I hope she is enjoying the peace).  When we have got her in her proper place in the garden I will send you a picture of her palace!!!   DB, Staffs

- later followed by:

He has now made friends with my 2 girls outside, or they have made friends with him as Bigwig was always very grumpy she now runs over to him and licks his face, and he goes in their hutch and eats the food !!!
He still has the tendency to be a bit naughty, he tends to nibble anything left on the table and if the chairs are pushed in he jumps straight up from the floor.
He is my little alarm clock in the morning and comes thundering up the stairs at about 1/2 5 so he can have a half hour cuddle before the alarm clock goes off unfortunately he hasn't learnt weekends yet!!
He loves a noserub or his cheeks rubbed and if you stop he gives you a little nudge, He also knows where the treat box is kept and when we come in and he has been on his own for a bit he charges round and round our legs and then sits very up right by the drawer, He is very funny and we all love him to bits,
Hope everyone is well
Give Giles and Imogen a kiss from their big son

(Belated) Feedback direct from Master Monty, adopted in November 2003

"a big bunny hello from Monty. son of Giles & Phoebe. i am now a fully qualified Half house/Half garden bunny. i live with my two cute little girlfriends Fenita and Dolly who are minilops. My arrival soon sorted out their girlie bickering and now all live in perfect harmony. Sometimes i think fernita loves me a bit too much so when it all gets too lovey i go indoors to see my adopted parent Phil and my two sisters Lucy 17 and Alice 15. i am very sociable and i love company. so when Lucy and Alice have their mates 'round for parties i am allowed to get right in there and party the night away. i think I may be a bit famous around my village. sometimes i get called 'Buttons' because when i was young i liked nothing more than biting off all the buttons on every remote in the house. now my adopted parent can't watch tv so much and so he watches me instead."

sorry for the delay writing but as i said we are all far too busy enjoying the big boy.

best regards

Phil (no buttons) Med

Good afternoon Karen, and apologies for not sending you an email first thing this morning.  The journey home with Nibbles went really well.  She snuggled into my lap and dozed nearly all the way home, bearing in mind it took just over three hours.  Ellysa sat in the front as she is not a good traveller, so I was the lucky one to have the cuddles.

We took her into her new house and she had a good look around.  It didnt take her long to explore upstairs and downstairs.  Ellysa has a little chair in the house and Nibbles makes herself comfortable when she is dozing in the sun! We are all so delighted with her.  My son brought his girlfriend round to see her, and the Great Grandma and Great Grandpa came to visit yesterday.
She has been indoors a few times, and we have had a couple of accidents!  Ellysa and I were in the house early this morning and then Nibbles hopped up on the chair and layed in the sun.
We have taken photographs and when developed will send you copies.
We are so grateful for her and love her so much already.  Please be assured she has gone to a very loving home!
 Regards, LK, London.

.... Just thought you would like an update on Nibbles progress!  Well, what a beauty!  She is developing really well, so very friendly and Ellysa and her have really bonded.  Ellysa carries Nibbles around and you can often see them having huggies.  Nibbles rests her feet on Ellysa's shoulders and looks all around, and then snuggles into her neck.

I can honestly say, she is well and truly loved by everyone!  She is house trained, no accidents.  Indoors she likes to lay on the marble fire surround, and she takes a running leap and just crashes out there. We have taken numerous photophraphs of her and I will put some in the post to you.

She likes her house, and spends time sitting on top of her bedroom roof, looking out of the window into the garden.

So, thank you so very much for such a little treasure.

Master Lyndon (now known as Dermot (Mottie for short) or Ploppy depending on the
circumstances!) has settled in well.  He was quiet for the first couple of
hours when we got home, we set his new home up and left food & water and
left him to his own devises really.  He ventured out about teatime to come
and investigate his new abode and owners and quite frankly there has been
no stopping him since.  He is extremely mischievous (this morning one
minute he was there looking all cute and waiting for more hay, the next
he'd gone, to be found two rooms away in the lounge sat having a wash on the
top of the stereo (involves jumping on a chair, back of an armchair and a
shelf!) and loves his cuddles.  He's eating well (both hay and dry food)
and playing with his toys.  He hasn't really drank that much (probably
about 250ml) over the last couple of days but he's perky enough and I keep
checking him for dehydration.  As for litter training, most of his widdles
are in his litter tray, if not they're just next to it as are most of the
poops, we have the occasional accident with the poops during cuddles but I
just take him through to his litter tray straight away along with the
poops, so hopefully he'll get the message.

Anyway I better get on with some work, not that I can concentrate cos I
can't wait to get home to Mottie.

Best wishes
Anne, Birmingham

Harvey's feedback about his new 'mum' and 'dad':

Hi  Mummy Karen,

I arrived safely in my new home on Sunday and I was a very good boy for my new Mummy.
I think I am going to like my new Mummy and Daddy they give me lots and lots of snuggles, cuddles and play with me lots!
I have a nice big cage for when Mummy and Daddy go out, but as soon as they arrive home I look at them through the bars and say please let me out, which they do and I then send most of my time running around exploring and nibbling things which I should not be nibbling.( I think I have Mummy and Daddy wrapped around my little paws?)
I have been out in the garden in my play pen, on the patio, a few times, I am getting the hang of potty training, just had one mis-hap. But Mummy was not cross!

Thank you Mummy Karen for finding me a lovely Mummy and Daddy.
 Love Harvey, Sue  and Derek.

Feedback from Elwood's mum and dad in Lincolnshire:

Hi Karen

It was lovely to meet you and the (somewhat reduced now) furry mob, yesterday.

We had a very smooth and easy trip back to North Lincolnshire. Elwood was
very relaxed on Mum's knee all the way and is settling in very nicely. Eating and
drinking plenty, getting heaps of gentle warm snuggles, gradually exploring
his new habitat and giving his Jingle Ball some 'stick'. He asked me to send
his love and nuzzles.

We're all thrilled with him.

Thanks again for rearing our little boy, and providing us with a bun with
such a good start in life. We'll be sure it continues.

Andy and Alison.

Feedback from Murphy's 'mum' in Southampton:

Murphy is doing really well, he puts away so much food in that little belly of his.  He's almost doubled in size.  He spends most of the day in the house, he's got a special cushion on the sofa where he spends hours sat with us whilst we're watching TV in the evening.  At bedtime he goes back into his hutch and puts his head out to have a big kiss behind his furry ears.  Thanks for all the handling you did with him, it's really paid off for us as he's never once not wanted to be picked up. He's so adorable, I'll send a photo when I've had them developed.

Feedback re Jasper, a French Lop X British Giant boy:

Thought It was about time to bring you up to date.

Jasper is a star!! After just one week we were happy to let him out of his pen, during the day when we are in, and he loves exploring every room. He is getting on fine with the other two ,especially Felix <son of Penelope and Wellington adopted 2002>.  He can often be seen climbing onto Felix to groom him...Felix rarely objects!!. Jasper was allowed out for the first time last Friday and he cannot believe his luck...more space!!.  He has now learned how to use the cat-flap and comes and goes as he pleases.  He has started eating the big boy food and has tried greens already with no adverse effects. He even has to have his fruitibix with the others first thing in the morning.          This is the easiest integration we have ever witnessed and is a pleasure to observe. The only place Jasper has left to conquer are the stairs...but even that can't be far off!! We will keep you updated on Jasper's progress...once again you've provided a star bunny!!Janet & Graham, April 2004

Later followed in May 2004 by:

Karen,
Now that Jasper has been with us for just over a month I thought I'd bring you up to date. At yesterdays weigh-in Jasper had reached 2.3 k.g and ,at the rate he eats ,is growing daily. He doesn't think twice about using the cat flap, is totally integrated with the others and has conquered the stairs. Compared to our other two he is never still and has to investigate everything. His litter habits our impeccable and his only annoying habit is his need to chew shoelaces...normally when they are attached to shoes which are attached to legs !!
Next week Jasper is making his first visit to a vet for his VHD injection and to check up on his castration situation. Jasper is also going on holiday next week with his two pals. We have booked them in with the local BHRA  sitter, Amanda Wilkinson, for two weeks as we are off to Egypt. Amanda looked after our bunnies last year and has just informed us that she entered a photo competition using one of our rabbits. The photo came second and we are looking forward to collecting a rosette and a copy of the photo. Who would have thought Sapphire <daughter of Heathcliffe and Petronella> would be a prize winner !!

Then followed in June by:

He is the most sociable rabbit, both with us and the other two houserabbits,we have ever had and is a bundle of energy. He is rarely still either climbing out of the cat flap to go o utside or running through the house and jumping on the couch or sneaking in to the garage and hiding. He now weighs in at 3.9kg and will eat almost anything, he has a built in radar when their are doughnuts in the house.

Once again you have provided us with a happy, healthy rabbit who is a real character. You should be very proud!!

December 2004 update:

Jasper (now 6.7 kg) amazes us more day by day.  He has, in the last 2 weeks, decided that each night when we go to bed he will follow.  He then jumps up on our bed and sleeps on the quilt at our feet!!.  When we get up so does he and follows us down for his Weetabix, although some mornings he has a lie in!!  We have now put a rug on top of the quilt which Jasper uses as his blanket.  Unbelievable!!  Try explaining to your work colleagues the next day that your sleep got interrupted last night because the rabbit fell off the bed and woke you up!!

Hello Karen We didn't get home until about 10.30!  It was raining very badly all the way home so the visibility was poor, but we made it and introduced Henry to his new wife.

They both had the run of the living room and he didn't seem bothered at all and ignored her for most of the time. She ran around like mad and then tried to say hello to him after a while.. <snip> ... by the time we woke up on Sunday morning and came down to let them out, they were the best of friends!!  Henry now lays down and La La licks his head!  They snuggle up together and look very happy which I have to say I am very relieved about!  La La is such a lovely little bunny, very friendly and always licking everyone!  I did some ironing yesterday morning and for the whole time, she sat between my feet and constantly licked them! I put them in their hutch this morning and La La was lying in the hay rack sunbathing.  I am sure they will be very happy together!

Will keep you updated, thanks for everything

From the adopters of Jack and Jill from Madam Butterfly/Giles' French Lop litter, Feb 2004:

Morning Karen,

It was excellent to meet you and your bunnies on Saturday...all of which are gorgeous by the way...I just couldn't believe how friendly and cuddly they are. Jack and Jill travelled home very well (no accidents.....which I was very impressed with).

Jack and Jill have settled in very very well and appear to be very happy in their new home (they sent you a text message on Saturday when we returned home...I hope you received it) They both have extremely cheeky personalities which are both adorable and Mike and I are fascinated with, Jill is particularly cheeky once she gets going (normally spurred in by Jack). Both are using the litter tray very well and are munching and drinking away with no problems....apart from the abundance of snuggles which appear to get in the way.

I will send you some pictures of our mischievous pair in the week...they have kept us very amused over the last 36 hours and send their love xx

M & K G, Wirral, Merseyside

......and their sisters, Muffin and Cookie:

Just to let you know that we all got home safely and that the bunnies
are settling in very well! They were very good all the way home and
even waited until we filled their litter tray - so we were very
impressed! Since then there has been one or two accidents, but we think
this might be due to excitement!

They have now made themselves very happy and at home, jumping on the
sofas and even settling down for cuddles and watching T.V!

We have called them Muffin (Opal) and Cookie - who we must agree with
you has a great personality, very friendly and gets into every gap that
we have forgotten to fill!!

We have taken a few photos - please see the link below - no doubt there
will be a million more in a few days!

Thanks again, Emma, Dan, Muffin & Cookie.xx   See the twins at: www.emmaadams.co.uk/rabbits/

From the adopters of French Lop 'Duncan', Feb 2004:

Karen,

Just wanted to say hello and to let you know of our bunny's progress. We decided to call him Duncan and he is absolutely the best thing to ever happen to us. He is a really good eater and has grown in the week that we have had him. I could not love him more if I wanted to. He comes in the house for quite a while each day, doing well with the toilet training!!!! He is really loving and friendly, everybody loves him and I am so happy to be with him its unreal.

Hope you are all ok, and another massive thank you for letting us have him.  He has made our lives complete.

Will be in touch soon,

Lots of love from

Amanda, Alan and Duncan

From the Adopters of Bluebells' son and Jezebel's daughter - Feb 2004:

Just to let you know that Taz and Bella are settling into their new home well and are eating and drinking well.   They've been exploring their new surroundings and Taz in particular has a great jump - he leaps up and spins himself around which is really funny to watch.  Bella seems to use the litter tray most of the time
(particularly indoors), Taz isn't quite so good although there haven't been any puddles indoors which is good news!!
They're both adorable and we love them.  Well worth waiting for.  Hope everything's well with you and the rest of the bunnies - we were very impressed with how friendly and well looked after all your bunnies
were.... they were all looking for attention when we were by their hutches which is great and I hope that Taz and Bella will continue to want this too.
Bye for now.
Fiona

.... and some of their cousins:-

Dear Aunty Karen,

Well we've been here a week now, and we think that Neil and Christine are just about getting the hang of looking after us.

They have been a little bit worried that we seem to prefer the straw on our floor to the hay in the rack for a snack.  However, we are getting really good at sifting through our food to find our favourite bits.  We don't think they've noticed this yet!

Most days we get to run around for hours, on condition that we sit still while they cuddle us and all that sloppy stuff.  Sometimes we have a little nap on the sofa, or sit there looking intelligent watching university challenge and the like.

We nearly always make it back to the litter tray for tinkles, but we make sure that we always leave a treasure trail of little brown peas for our our human slaves to occupy themselves with afterwards.  We've got them wrapped around our little paws, and they keep telling us how gorgeous we are (as if we didn't know!).

We may be celebrities, but we don't want to get out of here just yet.

Love to you and all of our other family,
Posh and Becks  x x

From the adopters of Philby, half-brother of Daisy (below):-

Dear Karen,

I just wanted to let you know that Philby has settled in really well. He was very quiet on my lap for the entire journey home and spent most of Saturday evening settling into his new home. Yesterday he discovered that he could jump in and out of it and had a very exciting time discovering the lounge. We haven't had any toiilet accidents as yet which I am delighted about and he is now spending the morning bonding with Ben, as grudgingly I have had to leave him to come to work.

Ben and I loved seeing all your other bunnies too and thank you for the time you spent with us, we really appreciated it. We couldn't have wished for a better bunny and definitely think that when we have a bigger house we will be back for more. I will keep you posted on Philby's progress and you can guarantee that I will still be avidly monitoring the website. Keep up the good work.

Kind regards,

Claire and Ben and big bunny hugs from Philby xxxx  (Surrey)

Feedback from the adopters of Daisy in February 2004

Just to let you know we got home fine with Daisy and she's been as good as gold. She's been eating and exploring her hutch (the tube seems to be an endless source of amusement!). We've taken a few pictures but they're kind of dark as we don't want to scare her by using the flash - I've brightened one up as best I can and attached it below. This is her doing what seems to be her favourite thing so far: spending quality time in her litter tray. We were wondering if this is ok as she seems to prefer sitting in there and doing her poos anywhere else in the hutch!

Thanks for everything - she's great and it's been a real pleasure dealing with you.

We'll definitely keep in touch to let you know how she's doing.

All the best,
Phil, Denisi and Daisy, Nottinghamshire

Feedback from the adopters of Winifred and Wellington's son, Dudley - November 2003

Just letting you know how well Dudley is doing in his new home. Well he's certainly livened our house up! Our cats have accepted him well, and whether Dudley thinks he is a cat or the cats are rabbits I don't know but it is like he has always been close to cats, and often sniffs noses with our most friendly cat. he did get a belt across the face off one of our other cats when Dudley tried to sniff him when he was quietly sleeping, which is a big no no with cats but Dudley learnt his lesson and has never tried that again.
He has laughably taken to jumping up on the three piece and stretching out for a sleep, but we cant very well tell him off for that as the cats have always done it , it just looks a little strange that's all. He has a very mischievous and inquisitive character, every time a cupboard door is opened in our kitchen he is straight in looking for something he can nibble on. He has already chewed through our telephone wire but that was our fault for not hiding it away from him, and he spent a few days trying to destroy one our wooden doors, the more we pulled him away and told him off the more he went straight back to it and chewed it some more, a defiant streak maybe?. But the novelty of the door seems to have worn off, for good we hope. I'm sure once he is old enough to go out in our garden he will have far more interesting things to chew on.
He is extremely tame and friendly with everybody who comes to the house, he always runs up to them before they approach him and he is especially pleased if they are wearing something leather for him to nibble on.
As for litter training we have not had to train him at all , he is using it 99% of the time, it looks like he was trained very well during his time with you.
The amount of food he puts away is shocking for his size but we are just letting him eat as much as he wants when he is still growing.
All in all we don't think he could have settled in any better, it's like he has always lived here.

Feedback from the adopters of Jack, son of Claudine & Giles in November, 2003:-

Hi Karen I was asked to send you this from our bun, Jack.

He is well and has managed to climb the stairs ( got stuck behind the filing cabinet) and knows how to abseil down from the back of the couch. He has put on weight we think about half a pound at the last weigh in and is enjoying his mad hour - about ten at night when he entertains us with his dancing and acrobatics!   He really is the most inquisitive bunny we have had, and the most affectionate, he is thoroughly enjoying life at the moment ,we are waiting for the moment we can let him into the garden for the first time.

We all send our best wishes to you and thank you yet again for the dedication you put into caring for your furry family ,Jack is testimony to the skills you bring to raising such beautiful creatures and we count ourselves so very lucky to have him as part of our family.

Thanks from Gill, Andrew and myself.

December 2003 Update:

Hi Karen,

An update on Jack's progress.  He is putting on about 4-5 oz a week he has had his VHD injection and we went into the garden yesterday.  Jack has taken to his lead straight away and we are looking forward to future outings with him.

He really the most amazing rabbit we have had.  We all get regular washes and nuzzles from him.  Now he is changing colour slightly he has developed a sprinkling of white and brown in his coat and has formed very light circles round his eyes and nose, altogether he is maturing into a most handsome chap.

Jack sends bunny love and wishes you all a Happy Christmas.

Best wishes to you and your family Karen and I cannot say this too often, Thank You again for Jack.

David Gill and Andrew.

Feedback from the Adopters of Posy/Little Willie's litter adopted in September 2003:

Hi Grandma Karen!

Thank you so much for these pictures and for your time on Saturday (apologies once again for our late arrival).  Thankfully the traffic was absolutely fine on the way home and the bunnies wiggled only occasionally (and I'm sure only because they were prompted to by their new dad!).

The time and effort you have put into raising Pippa and Barney is so apparent.  They are absolutely adorable.  Pippa is by far the more outgoing of the two.  She loves to explore and has a definite "no fear" approach to life!  If we sit on the floor with them, she's always hopping onto our laps for a quick cuddle before zooming off on our legs to the next one.  Barney is more than happy to snuggle in our lap and will only explore if put on the floor.  He's getting more and more adventurous though but just likes his cuddles too much!

Needless to say, daddy is now completely smitten and spends every spare moment on the floor giving them lots and lots of attention!  I'm amazed at how quickly they have taken to us.  We are having some litter training problems at the moment but I've read the pages on your website so hope to overcome this soon!  Thankfully we have a wooden floor so it's not too disastrous and has actually been quite amusing so far!

I'd best be off for now but will report back again soon!  Thank you for the list of vets and once again just a huge thank you for our two adorable bundles of joy!

Julie & Lee E, London

Following our discovery that Perdita, whom we hoped would continue late-Jerry's line, is probably infertile, she moved to London on 25th September 2003 - here's how she's settling-in:

Perdita has very sneakily managed to steal my heart and has become bunny no.
1 in only 4 days.  She has got such a lovely character and could only be
surgically removed from my tummy where she lies without moving through an
entire tv evening while fidgety Darcy runs and jumps around the living room
as usual, only occasionally stopping by for a 2 second nose-rub. I don't
know where he takes the energy from after having bounced around in the
garden an entire afternoon! I love him dearly, but Perdita (or Piglet as
she's now called occasionally because she's got such sweet pink ears and
weighs at least twice as much as Darcy) has added a whole new dimension to
my world as a bunny mum. Unlike Darcy, she's craving for affection and I'm
more than happy to give it to her!!! I'm not sure who's more in love, Darcy
or me...

Greetings from a very happy bunny household in London!
Christine H

PS: The first film is nearly full, so pictures should be on their way soon.

September News of Polly, daughter of Mayflower and Wellington, born February 2003:

Hi Karen

Well Polly (daughter of Wellington and Mayflower) is now eight months old and she has just won the friendliest pet at our village fete. Because she is so used to having a harness on she took no notice of the judge when he tied on her rosette. Dogs cats mice rabbits ducks geese and goats were entered. I'm so proud to own her, she really is a fantastic rabbit.   SJ, South Wales

Feedback from the adopters of Tom and Jerry from Bluebells'/Jerry's litter in August 2002 (now 1 year old):

Dear Karen & friends
Sorry it has been so long since I updated you on Tom & Jerry's progress, but I have been too busy cuddling them to send emails!!
I have never known any pets to demand so much cuddling as our two wonderful furry friends.  Tom is absolutely hysterical in his antics.  Jerry is a little more timid, but not by much.  She loves her cuddles as well, but Tom is definitely the more demanding.
Their colours have developed beautifully, Tom (blue otter) has got beige rings around the base of each ear, and the trademark beige flocking under his chin and on his nose.  Jerry has a lovely blue splash across the bridge of her nose and cheeks.
They really are stunningly beautiful.  Rob's (hubby) only complaint is that I keep their home and run cleaner than our own home!!
They are extremely good company for each other and can often be found snuggling up together.  What is really lovely though, is how they jump up to see you each morning when you go out to say hello and give them breakfast.
Once again Karen, thank you so much for letting us have the pleasure of obtaining two such wonderful additions to our family.  Talking of which, I have recently found out that Natasha is due to get a brother or sister next summer.  Bit of a shock, because the bunnies were supposed to be the final addition to our family!!!!
Speak to you soon, hope you are all keeping well.

From the Adopters of Bella/Little Willie's daughter, August 2003:-

Just to let you knew Lucy and I returned safely to London on Saturday evening without any problems.

After an hour or so at home and a few confidence cuddles from me, I let the introductions between Lucy and Spearmint begin.  No neutral area, water pistol, thick gloves or protective jacket were needed.  Lucy began them  with some nose rubbing and Spearmint concluded them with numerous amorous actions and very vigorous tail waging and if I am not mistaken teeth purring.  It was so funny to watch.

Needless to say they have become firm friends.  At the present moment I still keep them separated at night and during the day for my own peace of mind, firstly, that Spearmint may harm Lucy during one of his amorous advances because she still is so tiny and secondly as once or twice they decide to try each others food.  Although less concerned for Spearmint who has the 'preverbal cast iron stomach' of the bunny world, I am however very concerned for Lucy.  But she is eating and drinking well.  She consumes as much hay as she can get her teeth into.  This has also had the roll on benefit to encourage Spearmint to eat more hay also.

Lucy really is truly delightful and so very funny.  The jingle ball gets pushed around their play area and the two love nothing better to participate in a game of nose football.

I am still learning how to cook and wash up, one handed while bun is sitting on my shoulder or trying to reposition herself  on my head to get a better view of preceding.   More than once these menial tasks have been suspended for snuggles and cuddles and group play.  What can I say, thank-you very much for being aloud such a delightful little time waster.  Spearmint and I really do feel that we are extremely privileged.

Kate, Spearmint and Lucy

From Rosie and Giles' twins' adopters, August 2003:-

Thank you so much for our two bunnies, we have named them Paprika and Jaz.  They have settled in really well.  They have had lots of cuddles and apart from having the freedom of the shed and run they have also had a hop around the house.  They are amazingly inquisitive and great fun to observe.   They have already grown noticeably larger.
I hope that Rosie has not suffered any more from the heat and that she has fully recovered now.
Thanks again.  They really are lovely bunnies and I know that they are going to receive lots of attention and will be very loved.
I will be in touch.   With Kind Regards,   Terri
From the adopters of Imogen and Wellington's first (British Giant x French Lop) litter together, August/September 2003:

Dear Karen,

We have decided to call the rabbit "Murphy" ( even though he's not Irish ) It kind of suits the rascal.
Many thanks for your hospitality on Saturday.  We enjoyed the day and what a wonderful place Ross on Wye is - and its Cornish Pasties.
Barely 2 days in and Murphy has settled in like second nature, claimed his territory straight away no messing, the term " No Fear " springs to mind, with this fella !   He already follows me round the house a bit, chases his ball, attacks towels and loves going for drive in the car, excellent!
We couldn't have wished for a better member of the family, although he needs to be told sometimes can get a bit over excited, mind you the TV tends to calm him down and is already a big fan of Super Bike Racing which seems to fascinate him.
Murph's already met a lot of people in 2 days and shows off him personality at any opportunity, but I fear he's a bit of a hit with the ladies and turns all cutie cutie and soft, very tactful !
Murphy says he misses you guy's but he's having fun ( I'm sure ) and is busy running his own house in Derby thinking he's No.1, well between you and me, he probably is..
Many Thanks,   Simon, Sophie & Murphy.

A GuestBook entry:-

Name: lisa (Homepage)
Country: uk Date: Thu Jun 26 16:25:26 2003
Comments: Well karen,
i knew i would be back as soon as i collected my first 2 babies from you.
All i can say to all you reading this, you have to see them to believe it. I have kept rabbits for many year's, and like have had some very friendly lovable bunnies. Ross Rabbits are like nothing else they are worth their weight in gold.
Can't wait for the next addition to my family.

Note - Lisa has since adopted 2 more of our French Lops, bringing her total to 4 and we have a feeling we may be meeting again....!

Later: General update from Lisa B who's adopted 4 of our bunnies to date....

Talking about my big babies, wow Claudi (Claudia/Wellington) is by far the biggest, i wouldn't
even like to wage a guess on how heavy she is but she is a large girl. She
loves her fusses but isn't comfortable being picked up. she loves nothing
more than bounding round the living then flopping onto her side for a much
needed nap.
Merlin (Tansy/Wellington) is much more adventurous and mischievous and will nip your feet if
you dare ignore him. He is quite the handsome gentle man and you can see
tansy in him when you look at him. He loves to picked up and snuggled and he
will quite happily jump onto your lap.

Margam (Phoebe/Wellington) is very big, some of my visitors find him quite daunting but of
course there is no need he is gentle as can be. He has his mums colouring
but he has Wellington's good looks. I have to say he rules the roost and he
is adored by all who meet him.

I am in the process of moving to Wales, once i have achieved this and the
family is settled i will be in touch with you with the possibility of
adopting another one of your adorable babies. I will be in touch
very soon :O)
Thank you Karen, every second has been joyful.  Lisa B

From the Adopters of Claudette and Wellington's rather plump son, Monsieur Black Pudding, June 2003:

Just to let you know how little Black Puddin' is doing.  He is certainly doing all his droppings and now when he comes inside he wets inside his tray which he is really praised for.  You said all three babies were inquisitive, well you were certainly right, he is in to everything and soooooooooo determined but lovely with it!!!!

He fell asleep in the lounge today and stayed asleep for an hour while we all tip-toed around him.  I am getting constant phone calls from his (human) grandma and grandad to keep them up to date on their grandson's progress.

One thing we do find so different from our last bun is how placid and calm Puddin' is, he loves being stroked and is quite happy sitting on our knees being fussed.

From the Adopters of Monique and Wellington's mischievous son, Max:

Max is doing brilliantly, he was very quiet on the trip back home, spent
half of it on my lap, the other half on my left shoulder (wonder who gave
him that idea...!!). He's been very excited since, running around at every
opportunity with his ears flopping madly and his little back feet kicking
the air! Oh! you were right: on monday morning, he showed his disdain for
the gate... and jumped out of his pen as soon as we got up! We were glad we
had covered it overnight and even more so he did not wait until we were back
at work on tuesday :-)

He's not getting the litter-tray thingie. He seems to understand pretty well
he has to pee in his cat loo, but he's decided nobody would tell him where
to poo! I think we may have been too soft already, and that we should have
made sure he knew what to do before we let him out. But if we're around his
pen he stares at us with his little "get me out" face and climbs the gate
so... we couldn't possibly leave him in there!

I am not giving up though! I know he'll get it in the end.
We've got him into the "routine" of covering his pen at 9.30/10pm, switching
off the lights and retiring into the bedroom if we're watching TV. Seems to
work, it looks like he knows it means Good Night!

I'll keep you posted. Thanks a lot for giving us Max: he's gorgeous and we
love him to bits ;-)

Stephanie, London.  (Stephanie returned in August to adopt a wife for Max from Rosie and Giles' litter.)

Feedback from the adopters of Harebell's quadruplets in May 2003:

We thought we’d let you know that we had a safe journey back and our new bunny is settling in very well (And hasn’t stopped eating since)  We have to keep stopping ourselves from picking him up all the time!!  H&P, Derbyshire  - later followed up with

Thank you for sending the CD and ball.  Jake really likes it, especially when he is in his run.  In the evenings we put him on the patio in a spacious 6x5 foot run; we will keep him in there until he is used to the grass then he will have the run of the garden (with Inge hopefully)  We let her out at the same time and often they are lying next to each other so hopefully this will be a successful match.  Jake’s right ear has now lopped (we enclose picture)  Recently he seems to have put a growth spurt on, he didn’t seem to put much weight on the first couple of days but now he is eating with gusto.   We are always surprised by how friendly and cuddly he is.  We thought Inge (she was the first rabbit from a breeder that we have had) was a friendly and affectionate bunny; but Jake is even more so and we cannot imagine ever wanting a bunny from anywhere else in the future.  He sleeps in the spare room at night time and if it isn’t going to rain he has a hutch outside.  Paul often has him on his PC desk when he is upstairs and Jake is always licking him-when Paul puts him back in his house, he sits Jake in the palms of both hands and Jake just sits there licking him and Paul can’t put him back when he does this so Jake just ends up sitting in his hands for ages!! (It doesn’t take them long to have us in their  paws!!! )   Jake is an absolute joy –thank you so much for him.   H & P, Derbyshire, 6 June 2003

Thanks for the photos. We had a safe journey home, with Boris spending most of it sitting on my shoulders between my neck and the seat head rest! He seems to have settled in well, and enjoyed two outings in his run yesterday, just interrupted by a bit of rain. He had a long cuddle last night, and we are delighted at how tame he is - he is really gorgeous.  The CD is really good and I am going to find it useful.    Em M, London

Just a quickie to say that "Maisy" our new bunny was fine after her journey home, she sat on my niece's knee for most of the time and my little boy was delighted.  CB

From The Adopters of Jezebel's little sister:-

Dear Karen

I don't whether you will remember us but we adopted a blue mini lop doe from
yourself back in june (her parents were Bella and Jerry).

I apologise for mischievous and basically a joy to have.  Everybody who has meet her has
adored her, which of course she reveals in, and I might have converted a
number of people to the idea of a house bunny.  Jess destroys everything but
sadly not the toys we bought especially for her, and because she is so cute
and loving (she is constantly li
cking us) we let her get her away with just
about everything.
Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to by owned by Jessica, she
has surpassed all our expectations.
In addition her adoption CD and the Rabbit's Owner's CD have been extremely
useful.

Thank you once again

Anna and Stu and of course Jessica

From the adopter of one of Winifred/Wellington's blue sons in May 2003:

Thank you so much for the pics of ‘Monet’ - pity that I had to be on them!  Funny how you go along nicely then a shock horror picture of you appears!  When did I get that old??

Monet has settled in nicely.  He is greatly interested in ‘the goings on of cats’!  He eats really well & drinks too.  Loves hay AND CAN’T GET ENOUGH NOSE RUBS, CUDDLES & KISSES!  Must be a bloke!

Thank you also for making us so welcome last Sunday.  We had a delightful journey home but we did stop to check  ‘His Lordship’ & make sure that he was still breathing as he snuggled on my lap!  He really is an adorable little man & so scrumptious I could eat him!  No chance of that I am a vegetarian!!

I do have one complaint though, HE IS A DREADFUL TIME WASTER!!  Nothing here has been done since his arrival….

Love to you & yours from me & mine.   JS, Daventry

and later....

He is fantastic!  Loves to snuggle inside my fleece & doze, trouble is he is so relaxed that I am liable to doze too!!  He has a lovely nature.....

From the adopter of one of Claudia/Wellington's girls in January 2003:

> I love my bunnies so much Karen and i have never known rabbit's like these. I would love another Frenchy and i think it is safe to say i will be in touch soon to inquire about adopting another. Surprisingly enough my husband is quite happy with this - you have changed his attitude towards bunnies forever and i will be eternally grateful.  Lisa B - 6 May 2003.

Post-Adoption Message from Sapphire, March 2003:

Dear Mummy Karen,

I just wanted to let you know that I arrived home safely with Mummy and Daddy yesterday at tea time ~ I was very good in the car ( Mummy kept telling me so!!) and I didn’t even need the towels and spent most of the time over mummy's shoulders or down her sleeves which made her giggle if I wriggled!! I spent some time time getting used to my new cage which is very comfy and I’m using the litter tray ( except when I go for a wander but I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it soon!!) I spent some time playing in the lounge last night and made friends with Boris too but I think he's still a little unsure and feels a little bit left out although he's still getting so much fuss too!. Today I  woke up after a lovely sleep and played with mummy and Boris who I think is getting more used to me now ~ I like running around and jumping over him!! I’ve gone back to bed now as I’ve had a very tiring hour or so wrapped round mummy's neck ( I like it there!!) mummy says she has a new fashion accessory now and soon everyone will want one!!. Oh yes and by the way mummy decided that I wasn’t a Bella last night after all and has persuaded daddy ( very easily actually!!) that I’m more a Sapphire which is good because they call me Saffy for short which I like lots!!. Mummy says she has some lovely photos of me and Boris and some great ones of Wellington which Daddy will send soon!!!

Hiya Karen,
just a little note to say thanks a bunch for having us and thanks a million for my little boys. They're eating like little troopers, have settled in and are charging around playing at the moment and making a lovely din. Bertie managed to scale the barricade and was found sitting outside my bedroom door in the middle of the first night! I still haven't worked out how he did it. They are using their litter tray well and soon shall have some more freedom. I love em to bits - so do Tim and Susie! Tim said " let me know when we're going for some more!"  Hope you and the furry mob are well -  they're all really beautiful, wish I'd had a little more time to see them all. LW

Feb 2003: Mini Lop adoption feedback

Hi Karen,

Again, thanks so much for letting me adopt this gorgeous little fellow (Mr Darcy). Please tell his mum that she did a great job - he must be the best behaved bunny in the world. It took us three hours to get back to London and we didn't have a single puddle incident! He snuggled up in my lap, occasionally hid under the jacket for a little snooze and otherwise seemingly enjoyed the cuddles. Great bonding time!
He seems to love his new home, is jumping up and down the levels, and after having investigated everything thoroughly he went straight to the litter box as if it was the most natural thing in the world! And there I was all prepared to have a go at litter training... my little one has impressed me to no end!! He's eating and drinking healthily and generally seems to have adapted well to the big change in his life!!
I can't wait to go home for playtime tonight!!
Christine H

Thanks again for the bunnies - they are absolutely gorgeous! We haven't left them alone all day, they have spent more time on our knees then in their hutch! They sat still all the way home and settled straight away. We love
them to bits already!  thanks    Amanda C

Feb 2003, Netherland Dwarf adoption feedback:

I am writing to tell you that everything is fantastic and he is settling in very well. I have named him Flash ,as he is very quick and at night comes to the torch light when i get him out.  He is the most calm, friendly and lovely  rabbit i have ever come across and i would like to say how i greatly admire all the years you have spent with your rabbits.  Flash quite an explorer and also last night he was helping me with my homework!!!    Thank you for such a wonderful rabbit , i will send you some pictures of him at his new home soon .....     with love from Vicky ,Family and Flash !!!

Jan 2003, Feedback from adopter of French Lop X, one year following adoption!

Hello Karen, I don't know whether u remember me or not, but I had a French lop x bunny from you almost a year ago. I'm e-mailing you today because it is Louis' birthday.

He got lots of presents and is having a friend round later on (his brother, Harvey, who is also doing very well).  He now seems to think he owns the place and sometimes we think we adopted a dog!!!

He loves chocolate, you have to be careful where you eat it, as he can smell it from a mile off!!! His other hobbies include, jumping on beds (and weeing on them), eating anything he finds on the floor, running around the house (at top speed), lying down in the worst possible place, and nudging your ankles until you pay attention to him.  He certainly has a very big
character.

He can make anyone smile!!!

As he lives in my room with me (well it might as well be his room) I have grown very attached to him and love him very much. I often look at your website to see how all of
your bunnies are doing .I hope they are all well.

I can't thank you enough for giving Louis to me, I can't remember how quiet the house used to be without him in it!!! thank you, Charlotte

From adopter of one of Bluebells'/Jerry's mini lop sons, January 2003:

Hi Karen!
Charlie has settled in really well and is absolutely loving his life of
luxury. He's spent the last two evenings sprawled out across my lap in front
of the telly, without a care in the world!! He's already got me wrapped
round his little paw, as every timeI make a move to put him down in his
hutch, he buries his little head deep into the crook of my arm and refuses
to lift it!!

I'll write with more news and some piccies later in the week - and thanks
for giving us such a gorgeous little bundle!!

JL, Birmingham

- and feedback from the adopter of Charlie's sister, Isabella, Jan 2003:-

It was nice to meet you at the weekend.  We had a long journey back but it was definitely worth it - Bluebells' daughter is an absolute delight!  She has settled in to her new home really quickly.  She is eating well and has grown already, and her ears are starting to come down as well ... at the moment she looks like her daddy Jerry with one ear up and one ear down!  We have decided to call her 'Isabella' as we thought this would be a pretty name for such a pretty bunny!  It shortens to Bella and Izzy which are cute as well.

I will keep you updated on Isabella's progress and thank you again for such a delightful little bunny!

SB, Portsmouth
